Your Mission

We are currently looking for a VP / Head of Engineering (m/f/x). You will join our leadership team, build and lead our engineering organisation, and drive all aspects of technical strategy and execution. In this highly strategic role you will collaborate closely with product, growth and customer facing teams to create a differentiated product experience for our customers.

• You will lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution, rapidly scaling to meet customer demands

• You will drive operational excellence, designing reliable systems and operating them in production

• You will collaborate with product leadership to define and execute on the product strategy to create a compelling user experience for our customers and end-users

• You will implement scalable processes to deliver in an Agile/DevOps environment, ensuring development velocity and a strong focus on quality

• You will implement strong data protection and privacy and ensuring all technology platforms and practices adhere to regulatory standards

(Disclaimer: Depending on your experience and background, we could also consider you as our CTO. We will hire only one tech leadership position for now.)

About You

• You have a proven track record as VP / Head of Engineering in a dynamic organisation, preferably venture capital backed
• You have more than 3 years of leadership experience building distributed software development teams
• You have a passion for attracting, developing and mentoring top engineering talent
• You demonstrated the ability to set the technical vision and deliver new products from launch to scale
• You have full-stack experience architecting and scaling cloud-native, data-powered micro services architectures that deliver delightful customer experiences
• You have experience operating services using the latest DevOps practices to drive agility, velocity, and quality (CI/CD, Terraform)
• You have strong communication skills with the ability to confidently present a technology vision confidently in a way that motivates others to act, both internally and externally

Nice-to-Have

• Ideally you have working experience in a (early-stage) startup
• You have an understanding of application security and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
• Our stack is built on the following technologies and constantly evolving. Experience on these technologies and areas are a plus but not required:
  • Full-stack: ReactJS, NodeJS, Nest.js
  • Cloud Web Services: AWS S3, Cloudfront, Lambda, Docker, Redshift, Kinesis
  • Infrastructure as code: Terraform, Gitlab
  • Workflow automation: Airflow

2. If we see a fit for the position we will conduct a first phone interview [30 min] with you to understand your motivation and your background.
3. You convinced us, the next step is a deep-dive with your future team lead [45 min] on key qualifications for the position.
4. Your team lead loves you. Get to know your future team. We will invite you to an interview panel. We may ask you to prepare a short application case, but we will mostly focus on your background and situational questions.
